Academic Calendar

Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) implements an academic system that operates on a bi-semester structure, consisting of the Odd Semester (First Semester) and the Even Semester (Second Semester) within each academic year. This structure is designed to ensure the systematic and continuous delivery of educational activities, assessment, and academic administration across all faculties and study programs.

The Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Academic Year has been formally enacted through the Rector’s Decree of UMRAH No. 8985/UN53/DT.00.00/2025, which serves as the official institutional guideline governing the scheduling of academic and administrative activities. This decree provides direction for the implementation of teaching and learning processes, student services, quality assurance mechanisms, and academic evaluations in alignment with national higher education standards and UMRAH’s strategic academic objectives.

Credit Transfer and Grading System

Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) adopts the Semester Credit System (Sistem Kredit Semester – SKS) in accordance with national higher education standards and the Rector’s Regulation No. 03 of 2025. Each 1 SKS represents approximately 170 minutes of learning activities per week, including lectures, structured tasks, and independent study. Student performance is assessed using a letter grading scale (A–E) with grade point values ranging from 4.00 (Excellent) to 0.00 (Fail), ensuring fairness, consistency, and academic integrity across all programs.

UMRAH’s credit system is aligned with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) to support international cooperation and student mobility. Based on workload equivalence, 1 SKS is approximately equal to 1.5 ECTS credits for undergraduate programs and 2.5 ECTS credits for graduate programs, allowing mutual recognition of academic achievements with partner universities abroad. This compatibility enhances transparency, quality assurance, and global comparability of learning outcomes, reinforcing UMRAH’s commitment to international academic standards.
